Arkansas State’s Marquis Eaton Named Sun Belt Men’s Basketball Player of the Week

NEW ORLEANS – The Sun Belt announced its men’s basketball player of the week on Monday.

Marquis Eaton posted a career-high 32 points on Friday and added a points-assists double-double Saturday to help the Red Wolves to a weekend sweep of Louisiana. In the two wins, Eaton shot 52.4 percent from the field, 5-of-8 (.625) from 3-point range, and 20-of-21 (.952) at the free throw line. He dished out 19 assists and logged four steals while drawing a combined 18 fouls. Eaton was an impressive 8-of-10 from the field, including 2-of-3 beyond the arc, while knocking down 13 of 14 at the charity stripe in Friday’s 95-87 win. On Saturday, Eaton had 15 points and 10 assists while going 7-of-7 at the free throw line.

Sun Belt Conference Men’s Basketball Standings

This season, the 12 Sun Belt schools are split into a West Division and an East Division and play divisional opponents during the regular season to minimize travel amid the COVID-19 pandemic. 

All 12 schools will compete in the Sun Belt Conference Championship which will be held March 5-8, 2021 in Pensacola, FL.
