BIRMINGHAM, Ala. | Alabama State sophomore guard Jayla Crawford was named the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Player of the Week, announced by the conference office Wednesday morning.
Crawford averaged 15 points in a pair of road games against Wisconsin and DePaul last week, including a season-high 20 against No. 16/16 DePaul. She finished the week shooting 36.0 (9-for-25) percent from the floor and 83.3 (10-of-12) percent from the free throw line.
She also connected on a season-high seven free throws in the road loss to Wisconsin.
Alabama State (3-7) returns to action after the Christmas break on the road at Ole Miss, December 28 with tip set for 2 pm in Oxford (Miss.).
