Sun Belt Announces
Men’s Basketball Player of the Week Honors

NEW ORLEANS –  The Sun Belt Conference announced its men’s basketball player of the week on Tuesday.

Adrian Delph, App State
(#20, Jr, G – Gastonia, N.C.)

Delph tied his career high 21 points on a season-best seven made field goals in a 61-57 win over Charlotte on Friday. He was a perfect 6-6 from the free throw line and added five rebounds and a career best five assists. Leading by one with under a minute to go, App State looked to Delph who drained a fadeaway 3-pointer from the top of the key as the shot clock expired to give the Mountaineers a four-point lead with 13.9 seconds left. He later knocked down a pair of free throws in the final seconds to put the game away.

This season, the 12 SBC schools will be split into a West Division and an East Division and will play divisional opponents during the regular season to minimize travel amid the COVID-19 pandemic. The first conference games are set for New Year’s Day 2021. All 12 schools will compete in the Sun Belt Conference Championship which will be held March 5-8, 2021 in Pensacola, FL.
