Mobile, AL – Jalen Wayne appears to have picked up the mantel from former Jag receiver Jalen Tolbert. Wayne and the Jags faced off against Nicholls on Saturday in the home opener at Handcock Whitney Stadium. The Jags put the game away 48-7. Wayne appears to be on a mission this season, with a great start. Wayne hade three receptions for two touchdowns a 52, yard and 37 yard with a total of 98 yards. Wayne average 32.7 yards on Saturday.

Wayne while in high school played basketball as well and was a pretty good player but football prevailed. Wayne last season had 53 catches for a total of 630 yards on the season, averaging 11.9 yards per catch. Wayne is on the Senior Bowl Watchlist this year, look for him to continue to progress this season.
